The Puppeteers

Her puppet was devilishly adorable. His was disarmingly charming. His puppet joked; hers laughed, as he fell into the spell. She knew the game but not the stakes. As the puppets danced, the puppeteers forgot themselves, caught up in the drama and too afraid to step onto the stage. Young love is so grand. One day the puppets will become entangled and broken, as the puppeteers push on a string. Then it either begins, or they start searching for a new stage. Weariness will be their salvation.
